It's fair to say that parenting is one of the biggest jobs in our lives for which we've had little training. There's no instruction manual, it's on the job training. Your parenting style is gonna be different from mine, different from your neighbor, your friend. The key thing is what are your values and grounding it.
And kind of a secret here is that we're all making it up, but we're doing it. Based on our love for our children, our values, and we're trying to do the right thing, trying to do the best that we can. Hopefully it works, but we know we made our mistakes. And now your child is a student in college.
Is it the same parenting style you're using? Maybe, maybe not. I mean, as long as you're grounded in your values of what's important to you and your family. That's what I think is most important. So I'm not here to say this parenting style is better than that one. It's really about, listening to your student who's now in college and hearing them, seeing them, and that parenting style part.
Okay. You know, if you can be open and maybe trying something new, something that you hadn't done before, because. They're not at home or they're not, it's not the same circumstance. They're more making their decisions. So can you try something new? So when really comes down to it, it's not about this parenting style is better than that.
It's your parenting style and being open and developing and growing. Even as a parent, as your child, now a student is growing. That's how you can be most helpful.
