College Tip #697
If you finally submitted your college applications, here's what's going to happen next.
You're either going to get in, knock it in, or get waitlisted. You're going to celebrate. You're going to be really disappointed or you're going to be confused because how could your friend who's not nearly as smart or interesting as you get into a better school?
And you're going to confuse people because you're going to get into better schools. But the one thing I really want you to do now is not to get overwhelmed and not to get anxious and not to be worried, is to know that you're going to be okay. Because where you go is not the most important part of what happens next.
It's what you do when you're there. So instead of getting stressed out, focus on the places at the schools, especially the schools where you have a high probability of getting in, where you can sweat, play, pray, live, learn, lead, love, and work. Follow people doing the things you want to do. Get excited about all these schools and know that no matter what happens next, you will be okay.
Because you will.
