College Tip #662

Chat with Ethan Sawyer, the College Essay Guy.

This is Ethan Sawyer, the college essay guy. A lot of you are in the application process and I got Ethan here. Ethan, what's like a headline to help students with the application process? The biggest mistake that I see students make is they feel like they have to write about some big challenge in their personal statement and it's just not true.

There are so many more interesting sides of you. Don't obsess too much about the prompts. Really find great brainstorming exercises to bring out your best self. What you're trying to do, what colleges want to see, is what are the skills, qualities, values, and interests that you're going to bring to the college campus.

Alright, I'm going to give you some resources because Ethan has so many. And the thing about this guy is like, it comes from, not the button, but like, from his heart. And I'm just the hugest fan. So I'm going to get you those resources to help you guys, alright?
