Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Agrees: College is Still Worth It

But, as parents are sending in deposit checks to schools, it's good to remember some of the economic justification of a college degree. Spoiler alert, parents: "college is still worth it" is one phrase that continues to hold true.

Celebrate MLK, Jr. Day with a Day of Service

Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." Certainly, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service 2014, all individuals and students who have a day off of normal activity could enhance their character with service to their fellow man.

The First Year is a Big Deal

Parents of new college students recognize that the transition to college is a BIG deal.   The transition is a major life event for both students and the family. In fact, according to the research by UCLA - about 25% of freshmen students do not progress successfully to become sophomores.  Despite the efforts of so many people to select, enroll and pay for that freshmen year, many students do not overcome the obstacles they face in their new environment.
