The Los Angeles Daily News comments on the trend of apps for college campus tours. Simple online virtual tours are still around on school websites, but the new wave is the app that you can take with you. The University of Arizona, UMASS Amherst, and Purdue are just some of the schools utilizing this next-gen idea. Many apps of this type are available in iTunes and Google Play/Android App Store is packed with university tour apps.

The article also discusses apps that allow your to compare information typically found in college brochures. These apps can be pricy, but can be potentially worth the money if you commit to using them heavily.
