While the kids are home from college and the whole family is getting together for the holidays, this is the perfect time for some fun Thanksgiving themed crafts and snacks. Check out some of these fun ideas for your Thanksgiving family time.
Difficulty Level: Easy
– Double Stuff Oreos
– Pretzel Sticks
– Candy Eyes
– Candy Corn
Instructions: Simply follow the image to make your turkeys look the same, or add some flair to your own turkey design! Break a pretzel stick in half and push them into the cookie to form the legs. Push 5 candy corn, point first into the top of the cookie to form the feathers. Use 3 small drops of icing to stick on the candy corn nose and candy eyes. That’s all!
Difficulty Level: Medium
– 2 Large Wine Glasses
– 2 Small Pillar Candles (Fall Color)
– Craft Store decorations such as small pumpkins, acorns, pinecones, leaves, etc.
– Burlap or twine ribbon
– Fake Leaves
– Craft Glue
Instructions: Glue fake leaves and items to the twine or burlap ribbon. Wrap around the base of the wine glass. Place items inside the wine glass upside down and flip the wine glasses over onto a table or other solid surface. Place candles on top of the base of the upside down wine glass.
– Miniature chocolate chips
– Chocolate Kisses
– Miniature Nutter Butters (can be substituted for Mini Nilla Wafers or Mini Ritz Crackers if there is a nut allergy)
Instructions: In a microwave safe bowl, heat 1 cup of mini chocolate chips on high in 10-second intervals until melted and smooth. Dip the flat end of the chocolate kiss into the melted chocolate and top it with a mini Nutter Butter. Dip a mini chocolate chip into the melted chocolate and stick it to the other end of the Nutter Butter. Place the completed acorns in the fridge until they are ready to be served.
– Cinnamon Sticks
– Candles- Rubber Band
– Ribbon or Twine
Instructions: Place the rubber band around the candle, and then place the cinnamon sticks around the candle under the rubber band. They can be of varied heights and sizes. Once you have placed the sticks all the way around the candle, use the ribbon or twine to wrap around the rubber band. This hides the rubber band, and also adds a nice bow to the candles. You can place them individually around the house, or line them up on a serving plate with some large nuts or other decorations, such as fake leaves and miniature pumpkins.
– Donut Holes
– Pretzel Sticks (broken in half)
– Wax Paper
– Fall Colored Sprinkles
Instructions: Melt a small bowl of Nutella in the microwave in 10-second increments. Pour fall colored sprinkles into a separate bowl for dipping later. Dip the top of a donut hole into the Nutella, and then into the sprinkles. Put 1/2 pretzel stick into the donut hole to use as a stem. Lay donuts on wax paper to harden.
We hope you enjoy these holiday crafts and snacks! Happy Holidays to you and your families!
