This week has been America Saves Week. Sponsored by many organizations and banks, America Saves Week is “is an annual opportunity for organizations to promote good savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their own saving status.” Certainly, with 85 percent of parents report that saving for college is one of their top three savings priorities for 2014, this is a good week to discuss college financial planning.
Well, Sallie Mae is certainly getting some attention with their efforts to promote America Saves Week, by offering the change to win $10,000 in college savings.
Sallie Mae launched the Banking on the Future Sweepstakes to inspire smart saving. The sweepstakes is designed to first-hand college savings successes. To enter, participants need to share their “inspirational story or tip to help others start or grow a college savings fund.” Participants can receive extra entries by sharing the sweepstakes on Facebook.
The wining prize? The winner will receive $10,000 in college savings deposited into a Sallie Mae High-Yield Savings Account.
